I’ve been drawn to clay at various points in my life, from growing up on Kiln Ride, to secondary school sculpting and baking clay beads on campfires. It’s only after going to evening classes after having my children that I’ve really found my way in ceramics, by finding the joy in creating functional forms. I am fascinated by the almost limitless forms, functions, colours and finishes that clay can create, and how it remembers the touch of the maker.
All my work is made in my conservatory studio, and I’m constantly inspired by the beautiful Cotswolds scenery surrounding me: the rolling hills, vast views, and lush greenery. My work is all functional, and I’m drawn to elegant simplicity. Ceramics can last a lifetime and beyond, so I want to create pieces that will look good no matter when or where they are used.
Each piece is handmade on the potter’s wheel with stoneware clay, and fired in my little electric kiln which runs on 100% renewable energy. I’m excited to make simple yet unique pieces for your homes.
