We were recently lucky enough to work with interiors destination The Packhouse, located in a 400 year old ex-hop kiln near Farnham in the Surrey Hills, to showcase our take on their beautiful product range curating and styling a May Interiors edit.

We created two differently styled edits using Packhouse stock exclusively (with over 10,000 products in stock, we had a huge amount of choice). We based both edits on ‘outdoor living room’ concepts, to inspire their customers to inject a luxurious and richly textured feel to their outdoor entertaining spaces this summer, and create an extra special setting for those reunions with family and friends we’ve all been looking forward to for so long. However you like to entertain, just a few well chosen pieces can create a big impact. All products featured in these edits can be found at The Packhouse, and if you buy in store or order by phone, you can use our code MAYINT10 to get a 10% discount. A great reason to shop in person and spend a couple of hours browsing their three floors of homewares, followed by coffee & homemade cakes in their new Hive outdoor cafe pods.

Edit 1: Lazy summer lunch table

Just because you’re entertaining outside, you don’t need to be limited to purely functional outdoor furniture. Treat outdoors just like you would indoors and layer up different types of seating, candelabras, throws, cushions, furs, flowers in large stone jugs, and zinc planters which can double up as wine coolers. Potted lavender on the table hints at the South of France, and adding vintage platters and beautiful glassware brings together a stunning linen-covered dining table for a long lazy summer lunch in the sun (should we ever get some).

Edit 2: Intimate courtyard set up

Or transport your guests to a Moroccan-style courtyard setting for a laid-back summer evening spent lounging amongst oversized cushions of different textures, throws covering bench seating to soften any hard lines, and natural wood and rattan furniture – like this one-off driftwood coffee table & radial cane chair. Light your space with beautiful gold statement lanterns (hang a symmetrical pair for impact), and plenty of tea light holders. Group objects on surfaces using mats, trays and boards, like this carved board with handle. Play with dimension by adding a pair of ornate outdoor mirrors to give the area depth, and create an intimate feel by enclosing the seating with a mix of tall and low-level planting using large terracotta urns and raised planters, like these made by Maultway Metalworks from repurposed rusted iron rods, and and sold by The Packhouse. Add food, drinks and loved ones, and enjoy.
